Emirates News Agency – Mohammed bin Rashid visits Arabian Travel Market 2022

DUBAI, 10th May, 2022 (WAM) — The Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has said that the UAE is committed to accelerating the development and expansion of vital sectors from the country. As part of its ambitious development vision, the UAE has made remarkable leaps in the tourism and aviation sectors over the past 50 years, which has enabled the country to grow into one of the world’s leading nations. of the world in these major industries, said His Highness.

“We are constantly working with our partners to strengthen the growth of the tourism and travel sectors locally, regionally and internationally. His Highness spoke during his visit to the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2022, which is currently being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The event, which ends on Thursday May 12, has 1,500 exhibitors representing 158 countries and is expected to attract 20,000 visitors.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Viceroy of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.

During the visit, His Highness walked around the exhibition area and learned about this year’s event, which saw an 85% increase in area compared to the previous edition.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed visited various pavilions and stands of participating countries which converged on Dubai to promote their tourist destinations.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed was also accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Media Council, and Helal Al Marri, Managing Director of Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET).

Hosted at the Dubai World Trade Center in conjunction with DET, ATM 2022’s theme – “The Future of International Travel and Tourism” – will run throughout the show. ATM’s Global Stage and ATM’s Travel Tech Stage will host 40 conference sessions featuring 150 speakers.

New this year is the ATM Draper-Aladdin Start-up Competition, which has generated huge excitement since its launch. This initiative will allow 15 innovators from the travel, tourism and hospitality sector to present their projects to obtain up to $500,000 in funding, not to mention the possibility of competing for an additional investment of $500,000 within the framework from the hit TV show “Meet the Drapers”.

Additionally, ATM 2022 will feature in-depth buyer forums focusing on India and Saudi Arabia, live interviews with aviation and hospitality experts, debates on the future of sport, of the city and responsible tourism, the ITIC-ATM Middle East summit on tourism investment, the networking of digital influencers, the awards for the best stand and the return of ILTM Arabia, with its focus on the lucrative travel market of luxury.

ATM 2022 is part of Arabian Travel Week, a 10-day festival of travel and tourism related events taking place in Dubai.

The event is co-hosted with Dubai World Trade Center and its strategic partners, including Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), Destination Partner, Emirates, Official Airline Partner, and Emaar Hospitality Group, the official hotel partner.
