The Kalon cor brewery in Tarbes offers to make its own beer

Place Marcadieu, the brewery offers you to leave with self-made beers. “Every fortnight on Saturday morning, we welcome a small group for 4 hours. Participants choose their beer upstream, can personalize their bottles. We assist them during all the brewing phases,” says Sabine Huynh, the manager. Four weeks of fermentation after the workshop, you can leave with around twenty 75 cl bottles. Something to show off in the evening with your friends. The activity is offered at €150, whether alone or in pairs (for a total of 12 people maximum per workshop). It’s your turn !

The educational farm “les jourshappys” in salechan: between cheese design and fun visits

Open all week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. during holidays, all areas combined, the farm (an association under the 1901 law) located in the heart of the Barousse landscape is full of animals (goats, cows, chickens, pigs, rabbits, etc.) and activities, for the little ones, as for the older ones. “We offer an introduction to cheese making from €15 on reservation, for 2.5 hours, so that you can then reproduce it in your kitchen. We learn milking techniques, we talk about births, it’s very fun and informative, even if it requires some attention. The workshop can be done as a family, with no age limit. The objective is really for everyone to leave the activity with the basics of manufacturing”, specifies Sandra Chausson, president of the association. The farm also offers a 1.5 km circuit for around 2.5 hours of walking around the farm, goat training, treasure hunts, pony baptisms, discoveries around plant stories, animal feeding , etc. A well-stocked program around an introduction to cheese and animal well-being.

Au Pic Gourmand has two stores, in Bagnères-de-Bigorre and La Mongie. “People come freely, watch and witness the making of Berlingos several times a day, for about 45 minutes. Then we organize a tasting. The Moulin de la Ribère in Mauvezin: making bread in a historic setting is possible

This authentic family watermill, steeped in history, offers to make your own bread: “We do bread events with school groups as well as tourists. Over one day, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., a baker teaches you how to work with bread. It goes through all the necessary steps, kneading, shaping, etc. As a miller, I also explain the different cereals we use, how the mill works and its beautiful and long history. It’s a nice moment of sharing and respect for traditions. Each participant leaves at the end of the day with the bread they have made,” explains Pierre Cabarrou, miller and owner of the mill. From May 15 to October 1, Tuesdays and Sundays at 3 p.m., the mill also offers visits or throughout the year by reservation. The place has belonged to the same family for several generations. The first animation is scheduled for May 19. The bread courses are organized from a minimum of 8 adults. Count 50 € per adult and 18 € per child between 5 and 12 years old.

This veritable “wine tourist office”, located in the heart of the village of Madiran, is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. “In our reception room, we have a cuvée by winegrowers from the estate. They are all represented. Wine tastings change weekly and are completely free. Without necessarily buying, the visitor can ask us for advice. We also provide this large informative part which is very important”, assures Sophie Lafeuillade, communication and wine tourism officer.
