Meritis obtains major referencing in the travel industry » PACA’s economic and political newsletter

Meritis stands out once again and opens up new markets.

The technology consulting company with 800 employees today announced that its Sophia entity has won a tender from the world’s leading provider of solutions for the travel and tourism industry. The Group will thus benefit from major referencing and increased visibility with major players in tourism and travel.

This success crowns not only the technical and multi-sectoral expertise of Meritis, but also the success of its establishment in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur.

In 2016, Meritis settled in Sophia Antipolis. The company therefore intends to capitalize on the site’s ability to attract talent, but also on the proximity to diversified players and, more broadly, the great dynamics of the PACA region in terms of digital technology. Less than six years later, this choice is more than paying off: led by Sébastien Videment, co-founder of the Group, the Sophia Antipolis entity saw its workforce grow by 11% in 2021 to reach 85 employees, and its turnover of business recorded an increase of 7.5%, which now brings it to 7.1 million euros.

Meritis has indeed been able to take advantage of the strong acceleration of the digital transition in PACA and respond to one of its main challenges, namely supporting companies, regardless of their size and specificities. Although 80% of its clients in the region are located in Sophia Antipolis itself, its activity area thus extends from Cannes to Monaco. Its multi-sector know-how allows it to operate in aerospace, telecommunications or banking/insurance, while its adaptability gives it the opportunity to work with all types of company profiles. Among Meritis’s customers in PACA: renowned major accounts, such as Schneider Electrics, Orange, Airbus Defense and Space, or Oticon Medical, but also small Tech nuggets, such as Greencom (Smart Grid), Baylibre (embedded) and Symphony (encrypted messaging for trading rooms).

Building on this success and cutting-edge expertise capable of adapting to different environments, Meritis Sophia Antipolis won a call for tenders from one of the main international suppliers of innovative IT solutions for the travel and tourism, based in Sophia Antipolis for its R&D.

By winning this call for tenders, Meritis will therefore be able to benefit from first-rate referencing with the biggest names in industry, tourism and travel, which opens the doors to a considerable market.

Sébastien Videment, co-founder of Meritis, comments: “ Obtaining this listing is further recognition of our level of expertise and demonstrates our ability to respond to multi-sector technological and industrial challenges. But even more, this success positions us in a considerable new global market, that of travel, both fertile for innovation and permanently exposed to digitalization needs. A great opportunity is opening up to us, and we are delighted! »

However, for Meritis, the winning of this call for tenders generates new recruitment needs. As of today, 80 positions are to be filled, ideally face-to-face on the Sophia Antipolis site, otherwise teleworking. Candidates should be fluent in English and, if possible, have graduated from a group A engineering school. Young talents as well as experienced specialists are welcome. Among the specific needs identified and the profiles actively sought by Meritis: Dev Java, Dev C++ and DevOps, Test QA engineers, and Data Engineering.
