The offer of holiday flights at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg is being strengthened with the company Smartlynx, which officially opened a new base at Basel-Mulhouse Airport on June 5, 2021 on behalf of TUI Germany.

On June 5, 2021 at 6:10 a.m., SmartLynx Airlines opened its season as a new company based at EuroAirport with flight 6Y616 to Rhodes. Operating holiday flights on behalf of TUI Germany, SmartLynx Airlines serves tourist destinations around the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands. SmartLynx has decided to base an aircraft at EuroAirport, an Airbus A320. SmartLynx thus confirms its entry into the tourist market. A Baltic airline based in Riga with 21 Airbuses, it has already operated for 3.6 million passengers in 2019. SmartLynx is one of the leading providers in the holiday flight and ACMI markets (aircraft rental with its crew and its maintenance) and thus materializes its desire to expand in Switzerland and Germany through this new establishment. The key to success in times of crisis according to Olivier Pawel, Director of SmartLynx Germany, lies in “the highest IOSA and EASA quality standards, being members of the EASA COVID agreement. With a quick and convenient online check-in, quality of service and comfort on board, we want to stand out for welcoming passengers aiming for destinations in the sun. »
