Prince Harry has announced the launch of a sustainable tourism campaign, inspired by the Maori people of New Zealand, as revealed by the Daily Mail this Monday, May 9.
In January 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their intention to leave the royal family. A few months later, the two have moved to California and they seem very fulfilled. Far from royal obligations, they take the time to devote themselves to their respective ambitions. This Monday, May 9, a video was posted on Youtube and, in it, we could see the Duke of Sussex playing a role allowing him to subsequently announce his new project. Meghan Markle’s husband launched a sustainable tourism campaign, inspired by the Maori people of New Zealand. For this, it has partnered with six major companies, including Google, TripAdvisor, Visa and Expedia. The initiative is called Skyscanner and it aims to promote more environmentally friendly travel. A project close to his heart. “Maori culture understands sustainable practices and takes better care of our land. These are essential lessons that we can all learn and that is why I am here with you.“, he asserted.
It was in a program broadcast on television that Prince Harry announced his project. According to him, New Zealand is a “sustainability pioneer country“, he assured. Subsequently, he shared a press release to provide details. “In a world where we are tasked with evaluating so many things, we now ask: what if your destination evaluated you?“, can we first read. “Starting with beautiful Aotearoa, we are launching our first campaign. There is a well-known Maori proverb: success is not the work of one individual, but the work of many – we invite you to be one of our many“, he continues. Touched by Aotearoa, the Duke of Sussex indicates that he has been there several times. “I have always felt a deep connection and respect towards the Maori people, which makes me feel so welcome every time“, he indicates before specifying: “More recently, when I visited my wife, we were touched by the bonds we made and the incredible memories we have of our time there“.
Prince Harry: why does he have problems with Netflix?
A few months ago, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed a contract with Netflix to produce a documentary about the Invictus Games. However, an interview given by the Duke of Sussex on April 20 would have greatly annoyed the American platform. On the antenna of the American channel NBC, he gave news of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. The big bosses of Netflix would have been “annoyed“by this one, as revealed by the Daily Mail this Sunday, May 8.”Netflix would have liked to have the first comments on the visit to the Queen for the documentary”, a source said. Moreover, the streaming platform recently decided to cancel Pearl!, an animated series project, created by Meghan Markle. It would therefore seem that relations are strained between them.
