Vietnam: a cry from within
Diagonally. The Franco-Vietnamese Friendship Association of Hérault is offering, this Sunday, May 8, the broadcast of the film “Viêt-Nam: a cry that comes from within”. This feature film was directed by Biterrois André Menras in 2019. It is made up of dozens of testimonies from personalities or anonymous men and women who recount their difficulties with the regime, from Saigon to Hanoi. “I hadn’t planned to make this film when I arrived in Vietnam. It was the arrest of a friend that forced my decision,” says André Menras, a fine connoisseur of the country and who, in 2009, was the first Westerner to obtain Vietnamese nationality.
# This Sunday, May 8 at 11 a.m. at the Diagonal cinema, in the presence of the author (film in French version).
