What are the most beautiful places in the United States?

If there are many beautiful cities to visit in the United States, the landscapes are not left out. It must be said that with its almost 10 million km2, the country offers tourists extremely varied scenery, with some of the most beautiful national parks in the world.

Yosemite national park

This is one of the many famous national parks in the United States. Located in the Sierra Nevada mountains in California, Yosemite national park attracts tourists from all over the world, eager to discover its centuries-old redwoods, the granite cliffs of El Capitan and Half Dome, or the fall of the Veil of the Bride.

Horseshoe Bend

In Arizona, it is a stretch of the Colorado River, whose course in an old eroded plateau forms a horseshoe. Hence its name “Horseshoe Bend”, which literally means “horseshoe bend”. Note that the Horseshoe Bend is not part of the Grand Canyon, another American wonder. But the site is only 8 km from the limits of the Grand Canyon national park.

Monument Valley

This spectacular site is located on the border between Utah and Arizona. It is part of the Colorado plateau and a Navajo Indian reservation. It is an emblematic landscape of westerns, with its large desert expanses dotted with large rocky peaks.

Route 66

Route 66 is famous all over the world. 3,943 kilometers long, it connects Los Angeles, California, to Chicago, Illinois. Created in 1926, it allowed at the time to promote immigration to the west of the country. It is now criss-crossed in particular by motorcycle enthusiasts.

yellowstone national park

Created in 1872, Yellowstone national park is the oldest national park in the world. It straddles three states: largely in Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana, for an area of almost 9,000 km2. There is impressive wildlife, including bison and wolves, not to mention waterfalls, hot springs and impressive geysers.

The Everglades

If you go to Florida, the Everglades are among the must-see places to visit. This wetland similar to a “river of grass” is made up of mangroves and marshes. There are many animals, such as alligators, manatees, and Florida panthers.

Antelope Canyon

Another spectacular place located in Arizona! Carved by wind and rain, Antelope Canyon is, as its name suggests, an ocher colored canyon made up of narrow crevices. The site is divided into two distinct gorges, with the Upper Antelope Canyon, and the Lower Antelope Canyon.

Lake Tahoe

This large freshwater lake sits 1,897m above sea level in the Sierra Nevada Mountains on the Nevada-California border. Covering an area of 502 km2, Lake Tahoe is the ideal place for outdoor activities in a beautiful setting. There, you can enjoy the beaches and water activities in transparent water, go hiking among the pines, or go skiing.

zion national park

Zion national park is located in the state of Utah, about 2h30 from Las Vegas. There are arches, mounds, mesas, canyons and other monoliths of red or cream color. All crossed by the Virgin River. Once surveyed by Mormon pioneers, this park is now a delight for hikers and photography enthusiasts.

The Wave

As its name suggests, The Wave is a geological formation reminiscent of… a wave, sculpted over time by the wind. It can be admired in Vermilion Cliffs National Monument, Arizona. Due to its great fragility, only 64 people a day are allowed to see it (before 2021, only 20 visitors were allowed). In order to be sure of obtaining your permit, it is better to do so at least four months in advance.
