What the Pont-l’Evêque Tourist Office has in store for you, from the cheese festival until the end of summer

After an unprecedented visit in the footsteps of Flaubert last month, the Terre d’Auge Tourist Office in Pont-l’Evêque (Calvados) is offering an entertainment program rich until the end of summer.

Anecdotes and encounters

This will begin next weekend during the Pont-l’Evêque cheese festival, with two city tours May 14 and 15 at 2:30 p.m. “We will tell his little stories and anecdotes. Because Pont-l’Evêque is not just cheese! It is also personalities who have left their mark on the city and on the monuments,” explains Emilie Gouye from the tourist office. Exit the “pompous anecdotes”, the establishment wants to make live “an experience” to the participants.

Saturday, June 4 at 1:30 p.m., meet for a “wise” hike in Breuil-en-Auge. After a 12 km walk to discover the local heritage, meet the brewer Nicolas Vieillard from the Sagesse brewery followed by a tasting. Saturday, June 25 at 2 p.m., Thomas will open the doors of his Augeron stud farm specializing in polo.

Monday, July 11 at 2:30 p.m., the establishment is organizing a heritage visit of Blangy-le-Chateau. From July 12 to 29, Tuesdays at 6 p.m. and Fridays at 11 a.m., the curious will once again be invited to discover the anecdotes of Pont-l’Evêque. “There will now be a visit in the morning, and a visit in the evening, in order to reach as many people as possible”, explains Fabien Salvetat, deputy director of the SPL Terre d’Auge Attractif.

The participants will discover its unusual places such as its cave, an exact copy of that of Lourdes or its prison”, presents Emilie Gouye.

From August 2 to 26, Tuesdays at 6 p.m. and Fridays at 11 a.m., the team will deliver as in July thehe little stories of Pont-l’Evêque.

Wednesday, August 17 at 2:30 p.m., effort and comfort on the program with the gourmet lake walk of Pont-l’Eveque. Participants will take the soft route from the city center to get to the lake. A way to discover the local heritage, to evoke the youth of Flaubert, but also the development of the infrastructures which gave Pont-l’Evêque a new boom. This walk will end with a tasting of Norman products at the water’s edge.

Monday, August 22 at 2:30 p.m., it will be the turn of the village of Bonnebosq to take part in the visit “Bonnebosq and the 7 mercenaries”. A reference to the American actor Yul Brynner, who chose it as a land of welcome.

Saturday August 27 at 2 p.m., the Tourist Office will invite the public to discover the Touques marshes and its facilities. This visit, led by a nature animator from the County Council, offers families the opportunity to put on their boots and bring binoculars for a botanical walk in this sensitive natural area. You can discover wild plants, many species of birds but also insects.

On Wednesday August 31 at 8:30 p.m., the summer will end with a visit to Pont-l’Eveque “by night!” » “It will be an opportunity to discover the city in a different, more intimate atmosphere. »
